BLOG #1 "ALTITUDE"
Monday, June 23rd

The more I learn, the more foolish I feel. Not just for myself but for the former version of myself who thought whatever wisdom I had was anything worth admiring. I was taught to value not the truths of the world but perspectives. I was taught to value the grade assigned to me. A sort of praise for the end result, not the path I took to get there. Today I am actively unlearning these frameworks that have built the box in my head that holds all of my thoughts.
I would argue that most of us are unaware of how little we know. Only 4% of nature is claimed to be known by man. You have heard that you never really “figure out life”. But I would claim that most of us haven't even begun. When you were put into this world, you were born to a game that has rules and regulations, commonly known as nature. Instead of learning how to properly maneuver this game you were immediately thrown into another game called society. Oddly enough the rules of modern society intrinsically goes against the nature of the world (at least in the culture I was given).
I'm starting this blog to offer a new take on reality called the truth. It’s important to understand the words that we are using to effectively communicate between one another. If you think knowledge is defined one way, and I another, then we can not effectively communicate. If you do not believe these words to be true, at bare minimum accept my definitions as true so that we can both illustrate the same reality through a similar lens. I use a few methods of defining words; I use the bible, I use the English dictionary, and oftentimes I use my own experiences and relationship with words. Because this is a common practice, I will often define the words I'm using to insure a common ground between you and I. Now let us define perspective. Perspective is the lens in which you view reality or something apart of it. (This can be both through your 5 senses of observation and your mind). Reality is defined as the world, and all that exists in it, regardless of the observer (This consist of all energies, matter and laws that propagate the world). You have heard the phrase perspective is reality. I would encourage you to only hold this as true if you are willing to accept the other part of the equation. Perspective is reality, but it is not always truth. Meaning something can both appear to look a certain way while simultaneously acting another. The job of your mind and senses are to intrepret the information given to you by reality and more often than not your conclusion is distorted. However there is one perspective that is true both now and forever, the perspective of God. Take a simple thought experiment to understand how deep yet simple this can be. How can an hour of traffic be both short and long? Some days it goes by fast, others it feels endless. In a seemingly unpredictable manner, your emotions, thought patterns, and interactions with the environment dictate how this time flows. Suppose in this trip you are accompanied by a relative who passed away. When you arrive at your destination they will disappear . Now I imagine that time doesn’t seem long enough. What changed? Your perception of your reality. So is an hour long or short? The answer is neither. It is relative. In other words, (time is). Any word after this is judgement. This illustration is necessary to learn to not value your ever changing perception of the world, but God's perception who is both consistent and truth.
We must renew our minds. This process includes changing both our thought patterns and changing the foundation in which our thoughts are built upon. These ideas should lead you to understand that we live in a world organized into a predictable system. Every cause has an effect. If we can both know and understand the laws, we will effectively play the game and use its rules to our advantage, instead of our demise. The lens in which you view life is fractured, inconsistent, and often clouded with poor judgement. Lean on the understanding of truth, reality through Gods senses, and gain a consistent, predictable perspective that will never change.
